Our Sustainability Commitment

Our lovely bird songs are recorded in nature and bird habitats are our responsibility to preserve!

Our team at Dejama is encouraged to improve the environment and as a team we planted hundreds of trees during our volunteer hours at local apple farms, vineyards and protected forests, inspiring us to do more! Recently we have announced our partnership via Trees for the Future. Setting aside 40 cents per order for sustainable causes enables us to make sure we care about the environment in a scalable and sustainable way. We look forward to publishing our sustainability report at the end of 2023 with our total trees planted via this partnership!

The Trees for the Future Forest Garden program is a simple, replicable and scalable approach with proven success. Over a period of 4 years, Trees for the Future trains farmers to revitalize their land in a sustainable way. They provide training, seeds, tools and materials, in short, everything they need. Through the Forest Garden approach, farmers plant thousands of trees that protect nutrients and return them to the soil. This helps farmers grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. The Forest Garden farmers receive more income and food security, even during the first year.

Vision, mission and goal of Trees for the Future

Trees for the Future has a vision that envisions a world where every farmer has a Forest Garden on their land as a reliable source of nutrition and income. This reality creates an environmentally friendly and sustainable global food system. Trees for the Future is on a mission to provide small farmers with ways out of poverty and hunger by planting trees in Forest Gardens around the world. Trees for the Future aims to lift 1 million people out of hunger and poverty by 2025 by creating 125,000 Forest Gardens.

Where Trees of the Future works

Trees of the Future is currently working with thousands of farmer families to plant trees and change lives in five countries south of the Sahara in Africa. They focus on Cameroon, Kenya, Senegal, Uganda and Tanzania, as these are areas where they have the greatest impact and see the best results.
